Minecraft mods by BlockyPenguin
Ender beds that allow for an easy return to your spawnpoint.
Note
The following information was previously on the Modrinth page, however, to clean up before the release of version 2.0, I have moved them here for archival purposes.
Any modifications made to the text itself since being posted on Modrinth will be marked as
removed and added. Otherwise, the text below is exactly as it was.
Ender Beds will be undergoing significant changes before I release version 2.0, which is
planned to be either the next release, or the one after. I plan to have Ender Beds 2.0
compatible with Minecraft 26.2, however, due to not having as much time as I would like to work on
this mod, it will likely release nearer Minecraft 26.4's release date. Because of this,
26.2, 26.3, or both may be entirely skipped.
Nothing is yet set in stone.
The planned changes currently include:
| Feature | Status |
|---|---|
| NeoForge support* | Plan in place; not yet implemented |
| Migrate GameRules to config files | Work in Progress |
| Configurable XP cost for using an Ender Bed | Work in Progress |
| Ability to allow/block the use of Ender Beds in specific circumstances, or modify how it functions | Not Yet Implemented |
| API for ease of creating addon mods | Complete, with caveats - see #6 and #7 |
| Reworking of the crafting recipe for Ender Beds due to the below | Complete |
| Removing Echo Dust and Ender Fabric | Complete |
* I would like to support NeoForge, however, if doing so would add too great a maintenance burden, I may not.
If you would like to have your say on any of these matters, either hit up the issue tracker or send me an email at mods+ender_beds@blockypenguin.com. I will likely see the issues first, but will be periodically checking my inbox.
BlockyPenguin here - the developer.
This mod has completely ballooned out of proportion. As much as I really do want to support NeoForge as well as Fabric, it's not something I've ever done before and I am getting so lost.
Adapting a mod to run on two very different mod loaders at once is absolutely possible - look
around - this very site modrinth has some of the best! Unfortunately, I am
just not used to this workflow.
It seemed simple enough at first - just a few tweaks here and there, but now I really can't see any better way than just writing two completely separate versions of the mod, one for each loader - that would be easier than this!
As such, given my limited time and my desire to keep the mod moving forwards, I will be taking a
step back from the ever-growing task list below above, re-evaluating what I
want to do, what I have time to do, and what I feel confident I am able to do, and then
resetting my development back to version 1.3.0 and working from there onwards.
I sincerely apologise - this mod is approaching 1000 downloads now and I am so glad that so many of you are enjoying it, and I feel like I've messed you around a heck of a lot, but hopefully this refocussing will help me to just make better mods for you all. Thank you.
